Katie has been a real lifesaver. We had a late preterm baby and no one sat us down to explain the challenges of nursing a late preterm. With a shrinking baby and very sore nipples, I was ready to throw in the towel by the time we called Katie. She did a great job of helping us with positioning and latch, and also reassured us that the challenges we were facing were very normal. What's great about working with Katie is her consultations take place in your own home, so you get to work on nursing technique in the same chair, with the same pillows that you'll be using all the time! You can experiment with positions you can't work on in an office setting, such as nursing in bed. Katie is so patient and helpful and really makes herself available for the follow-up questions we always have. My baby is now well past her birth weight, and on the road to becoming a confident breastfeeder! We're so glad we found Katie and love working with her. She is a real gem.

When describing Katie, words just seem inadequate. She was my rock throughout 13 months of breastfeeding twins. She is incredibly knowledgeable and experienced, but what truly sets her apart is her dedication to her clients. She took the time to really understand me and my unique needs. For Katie, my well-being was not just a professional priority, but a personal one. Bottom line is that I would not have survived breastfeeding multiples if it weren't for Katie. She not only helped me overcome every challenge (and there were plenty), but she also focused on keeping me healthy and happy overall. She took the time to really make me a priority and did everything within her power to support me. Sometimes she would just call to see how I was feeling. I mean, who does that anymore?

Katie saved my life! Katie helped us with my latch. We couldn’t get our daughter to take a bottle and she was taking a bottle in less than a week. She was so helpful and reassuring — it helped me to calm down about the situation and make feedings a much better event for me and Charlotte. Can’t thank her enough!

Breastfeeding my daughter has been a pleasure for both of us. I am convinced that it would not be so if Katie hadn’t been our lactation consultant. She spent time with both me and my husband at the end of my pregnancy talking about what to expect and how to breastfeed. The information she gave us and the patience and confidence she had in me were invaluable. I feel so lucky that we had Katie in our community of helpers.

I called Katie during my first few weeks of nursing, when one side was just not going well and the pain became unbearable. She came to my home within a few hours and helped me find an optimal hold, which no one else had mentioned, not my doula and no online forum. Katie is totally comforting and so sweet! Since then, I've been in touch periodically as other breastfeeding challenges occurred. She has sent me thoughtful emails with great advice and has just continued to be an amazing resource to have. I am really grateful to have found her.

I just had my third child in February. There is almost nine years difference between my new son and my 2nd child. I had problems nursing my first two, didn’t even bother actually with my second. With my new son, Dylan, it was very important to me to give nursing a try and make it work. Well, if it wasn’t for Katie I can honestly say that I would have given up. I had two major problems — sore nipples and too (and I mean WAY too much) milk. Katie joined me when Dylan was a week old and by then one of my nipples was VERY sore from poor latching. She showed us right away the proper latch and it wasn’t long before my toes stopped curling from the pain of nursing. She then worked with me on adjusting the nursing properly so my milk adjusted to Dylan’s needs and I could actually go out in public with out leaking everywhere or drowning Dylan each time he tried to nurse. Katie was very patient and extremely knowledgeable. Again, if it wasn’t for her, I would have given up and felt guilty!!!! She made me comfortable and I know she is always available if I have any questions. Thank you so much Katie!!!!!

Plain and simple — Katie is the reason why I am still able to breastfeed my 3 month old today. Without Katie’s support, expertise, empathy and advice I would not have been able to make it this far breastfeeding. We contacted Katie several days after my son was born, after we found out that he had lost more than 14% of his weight. So, needless to say we were sleep-deprived, frantic and over anxious. Katie came in with good information, a calm, easy demeanor and most importantly with hope and positivity. I was worried about being judged by a lactation consultant on my difficulty with breastfeeding and the need to supplement — but Katie wasn’t judgmental at all. Instead she helped to keep us focused on what was most important — that my son was fed and nurtured regardless of the method (bottle or breast) of him getting food. Katie was a tremendous support- giving great information, coming to our home to watch the technique, answering emails and phone calls and helping to calm down my first time mom anxiety. I found her available, knowledgeable, professional, empathetic and kind. Katie has a talent for supporting mothers and families through difficult times. Working with her has been a life saver and she has given us the gift of knowing that we can feed and nurture our son no matter what.
